Teachers work tirelessly to educate and inspire our children. They spend countless hours preparing lessons, grading papers, and guiding students towards success. It's no secret that teaching can be a challenging profession, but the rewards are immeasurable. As parents, it's crucial to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of our children's teachers, especially during the holiday season. By showing our appreciation, we not only uplift their spirits but also create a positive and supportive environment for our children's education.

Finding the perfect gift for a teacher doesn't have to break the bank. In fact, some of the most meaningful gifts can be affordable yet thoughtful too. Consider creating a personalized thank-you card with heartfelt messages from both you and your child. Pair it with a small gift that reminds the teacher to take a breather after school. Sweet Relief, indeed! Simple gestures of gratitude can go a long way in showing your appreciation.

If you're feeling crafty, consider making a DIY gift for your child's teacher. One idea is to create a personalized photo frame with pictures of the students and teacher together. You can also make a decorative jar filled with inspirational quotes or positive affirmations. Another creative option is to assemble a "teacher survival kit" with small items like sticky notes, pens, and mini chocolates. These handmade gifts not only showcase your creativity but also demonstrate the effort and thought you put into appreciating their hard work.
This holiday season, consider supporting local businesses while selecting gifts for teachers. Many small businesses offer unique and handmade items that are sure to impress. Whether it's a handcrafted candle, a locally sourced gourmet food basket, or a piece of artwork from a local artist, these gifts not only show your appreciation for teachers but also contribute to the growth and vitality of your community.
As the holiday season approaches, let's take the time to show our gratitude and appreciation for the teachers who play such a vital role in our children's lives. Whether you choose a personalized gift, a practical item, a DIY creation, or an educational resource, the most important thing is that your gift comes from the heart. Remember, it's not about the value of the gift, but the thought and appreciation behind it. Let's make this Christmas a special one for the teachers who make a difference every day.

https://www.abigailfoxstore.com/products/cheese-curler?_pos=1&_psq=cheese%20curler&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Cheese curlers have a rich history that dates back centuries. The concept of using a tool to create cheese curls can be traced back to the Netherlands, where it was initially used to shave cheese for sandwiches. Over time, the technique evolved, and the cheese curler was born.
The first cheese curlers were made from wood, with a rotating handle and a sharp blade. They were primarily used to create cheese curls for decoration and garnishing purposes. Today, cheese curlers come in various designs and materials, but the essence remains the same - to create beautiful cheese curls.
The cheese curler may look simple, but its functionality is nothing short of genius. The gadget consists of a base, a cutting blade, and a handle. To use the cheese curler, you simply place the cheese block on the base, press it down gently, and then rotate the handle while applying slight pressure. The blade will carve the cheese into thin, delicate curls, ready to be enjoyed.
The secret behind the cheese curler's ability to create such precise curls lies in the angle and sharpness of the blade. The blade is carefully positioned to ensure that it slices through the cheese smoothly, without causing any damage or breakage. This allows for consistent and uniform curls every time.
Using a cheese curler offers a multitude of benefits that will elevate your cheese experience to new heights. Firstly, the thin, delicate curls created by the cheese curler not only look visually appealing but also enhance the taste and texture of the cheese. The larger surface area of the curls allows for greater interaction with your taste buds, resulting in a more pronounced and enjoyable flavor.
Secondly, the cheese curls add an element of sophistication and elegance to any cheese platter or charcuterie board. The intricate designs and shapes created by the cheese curler make a beautiful presentation that will impress your guests and elevate the overall dining experience.
Furthermore, using a cheese curler allows you to explore different types of cheese and experiment with flavors. You can create curls from a variety of cheeses, ranging from mild and creamy to sharp and aged. This opens up a world of possibilities and allows you to discover new flavors and combinations.
One of the great things about the cheese curler is its versatility. It can be used with a wide range of semi-to-firm cheeses, allowing you to explore different flavors and textures. Some popular cheeses that work well with the cheese curler include Gouda, Cheddar, Emmental, and Parmesan.
Each cheese will produce unique curls with its distinct characteristics. For example, Gouda will create soft and creamy curls, while Cheddar will produce firmer and sharper curls. The type of cheese you choose will depend on your personal preference and the flavor profile you want to achieve.
Cheese curlers come in a variety of styles and designs, allowing you to find the perfect one to suit your taste and kitchen aesthetic. From sleek and modern stainless steel designs to charming wooden models, there is a cheese curler for every kitchen.
To ensure that you get the best results from your cheese curler, here are some tips and tricks to keep in mind:
1. Use semi-to-firm cheeses: Softer cheeses may not hold their shape well when curled, so it's best to stick to cheeses with a firmer texture.
2. Chill the cheese: For easier curling, refrigerate the cheese block for about 30 minutes before using the cheese curler. This will help the cheese hold its shape and make the curling process smoother.
3. Apply even pressure: When rotating the handle, make sure to apply consistent and gentle pressure. This will help create even and uniform curls.
4. Experiment with different angles: You can vary the angle at which you hold the cheese curler to create different curl shapes and sizes. Play around with different angles to achieve the desired effect.
5. Clean the blade between curls: To prevent the cheese from sticking to the blade, wipe it clean with a damp cloth or rinse it under running water after each curl.
Cheese curls are not only visually stunning but also incredibly versatile in the kitchen. Here are some creative ways to incorporate cheese curls into your dishes and recipes:
1. Salads: Sprinkle cheese curls on top of salads for an added crunch and burst of flavor. They can be a great substitute for croutons or bacon bits.
2. Pasta dishes: Toss cheese curls into pasta dishes for an elegant and cheesy twist. They add a unique texture and flavor to traditional pasta recipes.
3. Soups and stews: Float cheese curls on top of hot soups or stews for a beautiful garnish. They will add a touch of elegance to your comforting dishes.
4. Sandwiches and wraps: Place cheese curls inside sandwiches or wraps for an extra layer of cheesy goodness. They will add texture and visual appeal to your favorite handheld meals.
5. Cheese boards: Arrange cheese curls alongside other cheeses, fruits, and charcuterie items on a cheese board. They will be a showstopper and invite your guests to indulge in a truly exquisite cheese experience.
If you're ready to elevate your cheese game with a cheese curler, we have them available both in store and on our website. They retail for $68.00 and are delivered in a gift box for easy gifting. https://www.abigailfoxstore.com/products/cheese-curler?_pos=1&_psq=cheese%20curler&_ss=e&_v=1.0
In conclusion, the cheese curler is a game-changing kitchen gadget that will take your cheese experience to new heights. With its ability to create delicate and visually stunning cheese curls, it adds elegance and sophistication to any cheese platter or dish.
Not only does the cheese curler enhance the appearance of cheese, but it also enhances the taste and texture. Each bite becomes a moment of pure bliss as you savor the hidden flavors and complexities of the cheese.
Whether you're hosting a sophisticated cheese tasting party or simply indulging in a delicious cheese platter at home, the cheese curler is the secret ingredient to elevate your cheese game. So why wait? Get your hands on our cheese curler and embark on a journey of cheese connoisseurship like never before!

#1: Tony’s at the J House: Riverside, CT
Website: https://www.tonysatthejhouse.com/
Pictures of Tony’s at the J House are from their website & instagram @tonysatthejhous
In the boutique hotel, J House, Tony's, an Italian steakhouse and bar, is notoriously known for its lively ambiance, excellent food, and kind service. Tony himself makes regular appearances at tables. Celebrities, from Justin Bieber to Bryan Cranston, have also dined at this restaurant. Now that we've tackled appearances let's discuss their infamous Sunday brunch! First and foremost, bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, and bellinis are $25 for two hours.
If you want to veer from the bottomless menu, pineapple, raspberry, or strawberry mojitos are also an option for $12 a piece. Tony's offers many brunch choices; if you are craving seafood, look no further; fresh oysters on the shell, lobster benedict, seafood cocktail, and smoked salmon on a bagel are all on the menu. Additionally, there is a more traditional set of brunch options such as french toast, waffles, and "Tony's Favorite," which comes with eggs, bacon, potato pancakes, and a lightly toasted English muffin.
#2 South Bay: Greenwich, CT
Website: https://southbayct.com/greenwich/index.php
Pictures of South Bay are from their website and instagram @southbaygreenwich
South Bay combines intimate seating with a lively bar for the perfect weekend brunch spot, especially if you and your friends have tons of catching up to do. The initial aim of this restaurant was to provide a warm nautical atmosphere for the community, and it appears to do just that. South Bay offers bottomless brunch from Friday to Sunday, 12 pm to 3 pm, at $30 a person; on Sundays, a d.j comes! Aside from their bottomless drinks, the restaurant offers many Instagram-able drinks such as daiquiris, smoky, spicy margaritas, sailor's delight, bloody marys, rainbow shots, and more. Some recall the bloody marys to be the best they have ever had.
Food-wise, the Mediterranean restaurant offers seafood and much more. The halibut wrap paired with aioli appears to be a brunch fan favorite. However, you can't go wrong with choosing from other classics on the menu, such as the Main lobster roll or the smoked salmon avocado toast. Make sure to book a reservation in advance; brunch at South Bay can book quickly.

#5 Quartiere: Stamford, CT
Website:https://thequartiere.com/menus
Pictures of Quartiere are from their website and instagram @thequartiere
Quartiere, which translates to “neighborhood” in Italian, aims to provide its customers with a friendly atmosphere and intimate meal. Earlier this year, Quartiere set out to make their restaurant 21+ to ensure customers had a fun “date night” rather than a “play date.” Aside from their dinner, their bottomless brunch strives to provide a similar feel to the dining
experience they offer. Food-wise, Quartiere makes pizza dough with flour imported from Italy and fresh pasta made daily from their scratch kitchen. Therefore, the brunch pizza, made with vodka sauce, an over-easy egg, pancetta, crispy potato, and sriracha sauce, is a must try, as is their vodka for breakfast dish, made with vodka rigatoni, crumbled sausage, and pancetta crumbles. Drink-wise, Quartiere’s bottomless deal is $18 for two hours with bellinis, mimosas, or bloody marys. Suppose you are not in the mood for an alcoholic drink. In that case, a fabulous mocktail selection featuring refreshing beverages such as “the flirt,” made with raspberries, orange juice, ginger beer, soda, grapefruit juice, and pineapple juice.
#6 Nomade: Westport, CT
Website: https://www.nomadewestport.com
Nomade, a restaurant on Main Street in Westport, gets its menu inspiration from worldwide cultures such as Hungary, France, Spain, and North Africa. Inside, the restaurant gives an airy bohemian feel that is perfect for a summer brunch, decorated with chairs, comfy couches, and basket lighting. The brunch menu speaks volumes about the mixture of different cultures Nomade sets out to include. Fried brie, oysters, buttermilk pancakes, house-made beignets, avocado crispy rice, Irish breakfast, and hamachi on crispy rice are just a few of the dishes offered on the menu at brunch time. Nomade provides a selection of adventurous drinks such as a Kir Royale, a French cocktail with crème de cassis, topped with champagne. Additionally, there is an option to do a 90-minute mimosa deal.

Spend some time at Children's Beach. Childrens Beach is in Town, and 100% for kids!
The beach is wave-free and calm.
Children's Beach also has a big, grassy field, a fun playground, a snack shack (with toys, sun screen and other beach necessities), and restrooms.
Take a surf lesson with Nantucket Surf School at Cisco Beach.
All the instructors are great with kids and always manage to help first-timers get up on the boards.
Stargazing through telescopes on a clear night in the summer is so much fun. Nantucket has the most amazing clear skies for stargazing.
Visit the Loines Observatory on clear nights throughout the summer to look at constellations through two research telescopes.
Visit a variety of sea creatures at the Maria Mitchell Aquarium.
This little aquarium is great for little kids and welcomes reaching into the touch tanks!
Force Five Watersports surf shop, has our favorite secret candy shop inside... you would never guess it from the outside!
A repurposed storage closet in the middle of the store holds loads of candy in just about every variety. Swing buy and pick out some favorite candies!
Nantucket has three lighthouses that are all still in operation.
If you arrive by ferry you will see Brant Point Light as you are entering the harbor. At 26 feet tall, it is the shortest lighthouse in New England.
The Brant Point Lighthouse was originally built in 1746. The current lighthouse has been there for over 110 years.
Brant Point Lighthouse is easy to walk to from town. We enjoy getting ice cream cones after dinner and walking over to Brant Point Light to watch the boats in the harbor and the ferries arriving and leaving.
Sankaty Head Lighthouse, the most iconic lighthouse on Nantucket with its red and white stripes, is 70 feet tall and was first built in 1850.
In 2007, the lighthouse was moved away from the edg of the cliff to prevent it from falling into the Atlantic ocean.
You can reach the Sankaty Head Lighthouse by car, bike or by walking from Sconset.
The Great Point Lighthouse is located at the northernmost point of Nantucket. This lighthouse was built in 1784.
The current lighthouse is a 60 foot replica of the original and was built in 1986.
To reach the Great Point Lighthouse you need a four wheel drive vehicle and a beach permit. Or, you can walk seven miles in the sand to get there. You are also able to book tours through the Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge.

One of the best ways to explore the island is on bike. There are several bike rental companies on island and most have great deals. Insider tip, rent an electric bike!
Once you get out of town, Nantucket has bike lanes on most roads, making it easy to explore. In total, Nantucket has 33 miles of paths to enjoy.
My favorite bike path is the Milestone Road Path. It takes you out to the village of ‘Sconset and loops back to the town.
Plan at least 1/2 a day to bike to and explore Sconset.
Nantucket has some of the most amazing public beaches.
Some have all the public amenities you would need, while others are extremely remote.
Here are some island favorites:
Jetties Beach is a great and easily accessible beach. It is walking distance from downtown. Fun for families, very calm and perfect for swimming. The water is much warmer with lifeguards on duty, public restrooms, umbrella and chair rentals, and a beachside bar.
Galley Beach: Private. Located between Jetties and Steps Beach. This is where the Galley restaurant is. You can purchase a spot on the beach, or grab lunch or dinner with a view of the water.
Steps Beach is a favorite. It is a great spot for grabbing sandwiches and sitting for a couple hours. To get to the beach, you go to Cliff Road and then walk down the many steps to the sand. As there is little parking, the best way to get there is simply to walk or bike.
Surfside Beach is another very popular beach. It can be accessed by a shuttle from the downtown or an easy bike ride. Like Jetties, you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas here and they have bathrooms and changing facilities. Surfside has a concession stand for food, as well as food trucks. Many people like coming here because it is close to the brewery.
Sconset Beach is on the Eastern Shore in the village of ‘Sconset. This beach is less crowded than the beaches around downtown and gives you views of the Atlantic. Since it is on the ocean, the water is choppier and I personally do not like it for swimming. The Beach is located near a market and great sandwich shop, where you can grab lunch to bring to the beach with you.
Cisco Beach is on the North Shore of the island. There are larger waves and it is a popular place for surfing. You can take surf lessons here, a couple surf schools are stationed here for lessons. There is plenty of parking.
Nantucket has amazing food options.
It is really hard to go wrong, but several places are known for their lobster rolls... And here are a few of our favorites.
Cru: They have a delicious lobster roll with great views of the harbor.
The Lobster Trap: They are downtown and have a food truck at Cisco’s Brewery.
Slip 14: Is also downtown, and has a fun social atmosphere. Go during lunch and sit at the bar and order a Lobster Roll. You won't be disappointed!
Nantucket has some of the prettiest sunsets. Some of the best views are from Madaket, or if you can't get out there, Jetties & Galley Beach.
Many people like grabbing an outdoor table at either restaurant for dinner and a sunset view.
If you go to Jetties you can have a picnic on the beach and enjoy the view.
Do you have your sea legs on?
If so, there are several sunset cruises that will take you around the island with gorgeous sunset views.
We recommend The Endeavor if you are a couple. If you're looking for something a little more lively, with a cocktail, Shearwater Excursions is a great option. Both boats leave from Straight Wharf, right by our store!
Juice Bar is the most well known Ice Cream spot on the island. You will be able to smell their waffle cones from down the street, while you are waiting in line.
Don't be afraid of the line... It moves pretty fast, and it's so worth it!
Jack and Charlie’s Delicious ice cream, and not as long of a wait.

Lights Up! Wherever you call home…
I love Christmas! And this year, the holiday windows are about Magic and Imagination and Innovation. Let's start off with a peek at the Christmas window center of the Universe - New York City!
Some might argue Christmas windows begin and end with Saks Fifth Avenue, especially with this year's monumental holiday blast-off with Sir Elton John's one-million-dollar song benefiting his AIDS Foundation Rocket Fund. Their windows featured clever space oddities and innovations.
My favorite will always be Bergdorf Goodman's impeccable window designs. Did you know it took 10,000 hours and 10 months to accomplish this year's theme - "Magic in the Making"? I am totally under its spell... and you know what Malcolm Gladwell would say about 10,000 Hours. Bergdorf's gives us a truly wondrous display of Expertise.
Bergdorf Goodman, 2022
Bergdorf Goodman, 2018 - I just have to throw in this dazzling candy cane window from 2018. Can you imagine Christmas 4 years ago? How sweet it was. So much has happened since then!!
Bergdorf Goodman, 2016 - and here's another one - from Christmas 6 years ago.
2022 Saks Fifth Avenue - A little further down Fifth Avenue from Bergdorf's Sir Elton John's piano graced the pavement. He said in a statement “While it’s the happiest time of the year for many, we mustn’t forget about the billions of people around the world for whom safety, respect and dignity are not guaranteed. Saks’ generous support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Rocket Fund will help fuel our programs to bring an end to the stigma and discrimination that prevent so many people from accessing compassionate and life-saving HIV care.”
The video is very sweet when his sons help launch the light show before he sings. Saks really put on an incredible show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7t-neiz_sk
I love how the Saks CEO calls the Saks windows "our gift to New York City, a place Saks calls home." He's so right. That's what it feels like - like giving a gift to a place I call home. I am so happy to be among the local shops in Old Greenwich, CT - shops that "Light up the night." It really is a gift when stores go all out and spread the Light around. I love to see what other shops are doing. It just lifts my spirits.
But wait, what would Christmas be without a little peek across the pond? I love London and those Brits are always tops at displays and pageants. Here are some photos from around London that really shine and caught my attention.
First stop: Harrod's - How insanely magical is this? I can't tell if it's under water or the 'stuff' of dreams with reference to Shakespeare's Tempest - We are such stuff / As dreams are made on, and our little life / Is rounded with a sleep.
Selfridges - camping tents! I love this nod to childhood imagination and reimagining the living room every Christmas. This was Me! Every Christmas! and I haven't changed one bit
Selfridges 2022 - It's Full Sled Ahead! We love this image of crown and ponies. Fritz, our life-size animated reindeer in the window would love to see these little ponies on display in London. I spy a crown atop a lady adorned in ... is that plaid? It’s hard to tell from the photo if that is a plaid. If it’s not, then I am totally reading plaid into it because I am always mad for plaid especially this year. As plaid is trending, it’s bringing back so many happy memories.
Harvey Nichols [Harvey Nick's], 2022 - Mod Asian Deco – this is so opulent.
Hammacher Schlemmer - And after all that, if you'd really rather just watch the others light up the world, that's totally ok too. There's always this option ... What would Christmas be without the Hammacher Schlemmer catalogue - stuff of dreams indeed.
Merry Christmas everyone! xx Love from Abby & the AF Team

More About the Designers Featured in Our Collection:
Designer Georges Briard
ABIGAIL FOX VINTAGE COLLECTIONS features glasses made by Georges Briard, a world-renowned American designer of Mid-Century [mid-twentieth century] cocktail glassware and barware best known for his distinct and modern designs, many of which were made with 22k gold.
Briard became an award-winning designer whose popularity grew from the 1950’s to 1970’s as high-end department stores of the time - Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller - continuously stocked his themed collections.
Georges Briard, born Jascha Brojdo emigrated to the US from Poland in the 1930’s and served in the U.S. Army under Gen. George S. Patton as a Russian interpreter. After the war, he lived in New York City painting under his adopted named - while also painting metal serving trays for Max Wille under the name of George Briard, given to him by Wille to mark his commercial pieces.

Designer Culver Glass
Embellish every Cocktail Hour with Culver Cocktailware
Culver Glass is highly collectible and remains popular today - it is known for its extraordinary craftsmanship. The company’s early productions featured acid etch, decalcomania, sandblasted, hand-painted, banded, sand-cut monogramming and silk screen. In the late 1950’s, Culver Ltd started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. The super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today.
Culver Glass Ltd was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg and was famous for its stunning decorative glassware and 22-karat gold decoration. From the late 1950’s on through the 1960’s, the company gained notoriety and its products became highly collectible and only sold at high-end department stores. Irving Rothenberg passed away in 1987 and his son, Mark ‘Mickey’ Rothenberg, ran the Culver Glass Company until he sold it in 1996 to Moderne Glass Company, Inc. Mickey Rothenberg continued in the glass manufacturing business until his death on 9/11. He was one of the passengers on the hijacked Newark-to-San-Francisco flight that crashed in Pennsylvania.
Collector’s tip - How to tell its a Culver? From the 1940’s through the ’50s Culver glass is signed with a script “Culver.” In the late 1960’s through the 1970’s, the Culver mark changed to a block lettering “CULVER.” After the 1970s Culver glass is typically unmarked because the company changed to paper labels attached to the glass and many of the labels disappeared from use. By the 1980’s, Culver stopped making its own glass and began using glassware ‘blanks’ produced by other companies.
Two sets of Culver glasses from our Collection, Owls and Mushrooms.
Designer Cera
Cera used real 22k gold in many of their glassware patterns and were known for creating some of the most popular Mid Century glassware designs. Cera remains one of the most popular vintage brands for MCM glassware excellence and their Poison glassware remains one of their most popular patterns today.
Hallmarks: Cera designed for Neiman Marcus. Some of their glasses are signed Neiman Marcus and not Cera, it depends on the design.

Designer Bio: Libbey Glass
Libbey Glass Company:
The Libbey Glass Company was one of the largest twentieth and twenty-first century glass manufacturers in America Libbey; produced bottles, containers, window glass; and is best known for its cut glass. The Libbey Glass Company began to produce windshields when the popularity and production of automobiles was increasing. The company remains in operation in the twenty-first century, In 2004, was the United States' largest manufacturer of glass dinnerware.
In 1888, Edward Libbey moved his glass-manufacturing establishment from Massachusetts to Toledo, Ohio. Thanks to the efforts of the Libbey Glass Company, Toledo became known as “the glass capital of the world” during the early 1900s.
Libbey developed a machine that could automatically produce bottles, tumblers, and glass chimneys. The machine increased production and lowered manufacturing costs as well as the number of factory workers who were replaced by the machine.
Libbey Tennis Glasses, Part of our Collection:
It is important to note when purchasing any Vintage Glass Products:
Mid-Century glassware often has imperfections (i.e. tiny bubbles in the glass, or a "seam" from when the glass was being created, an extra spot of gold or enamel that made it on a clear part of the glass, etc -- purely the nature of vintage glassware).
As always, Please reach out to us if you have any questions or are looking for help designing your Bar. We love searching for perfect collections for clients! af@abigailfoxdesigns.com
]]>It's a great time to get together with friends and family, share food and drink, and talk about what's going on in your lives.
This Fall, I'm focusing on easy entertaining — both because it's my favorite way to entertain and because it's what fits into my life right now.
For me, easy entertaining means sharing our personal size charcuterie boards with friends.
It's a fun way to show off your favorite cheeses and cured meats and it's super easy to put together (especially if you have most of the ingredients at home).
I love the look of a wooden board with lots of colors and textures. The colors are beautiful against the warm fall colors and they make it so festive.
What you'll need:
-our wooden charcuterie boards, which are sold in sets of two and perfect for individual servings
-a few varieties of dried meats
-some cheeses
-fresh fruit such as grapes or apples
-any other items you'd like to add such as pickles, olives.
-Add some color with tomatoes, radishes and rosemary sprigs.
Its fun to add the option of playing a game to the mix. Add a set of dominoes, playing cards, or another favorite game to the table and see where it goes.
Board games are a fun and easy way to encourage communication, storytelling and laughter.
Have fun with it!
